JAMES SAMUEL BROWNE Suffolk, Va. - 05-01-1874 - Dr. James Samuel Browne, an old and prominent citizen, died here today of pneumonia. He was faithfully nursed in his last hours by his nephew, Capt. Joe Sam Browne, his son-in-law, J.M. Binford, and Dr. Maupin, of Portsmouth, as well as by Drs. Kilby, Cropper and Eley, of Suffolk. His body will be conveyed to the Masonic Lodge, of which he was a past master, where it will lie in state until Sunday afternoon, when it will be buried from the Methodist Church.
