Abram D. Brinkley, son of Mr. and Mrs. Norman Brinkley, of Corapeake, died Sunday afternoon at Catawba Sanatorium after a lingering illness. Mr. Brinkley was 60 years of age and had long been prominent in the business world of this city and was a prominent citizen of this section. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Rosa Ellis Brinkley, two sons, Alton and A.D. Brinkley, Jr., five sisters, Mrs. George T. Poison, of Whaleyville; Mrs. Charles Brinkley, of Corapeake; Mrs. George E. Branton, of Cradock; Mrs. Carey Lynch and Miss Bertha Brinkley, of Corapeake; and three brothers, Norman K. Brinkley and Richard Brinkley, both of Norfolk, and Hurley Brinkley, of Corapeake. The body arrived in the city this morning, and funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon, with G.L. Brantley, C.D. King, W.P. Ellis, A.W. Ballard, E.E. Jones, B.D. Crocker, George Whitley and Ira P. Brinkley serving as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be, W.R. Mitchell, Felix Brinkley, F.C. Rawles, Dr. D.L. Harrell, Dr. David Rawles, J.W. Brinkley, W.A. Pharis, J.A. Parker, Charles Andrews, W.B. Ferguson, P.T. Cahoon, W.J. Rhodes, C.W. Harrell and C.R. High.
