Brinkley, an insurance company employee, is survived by his wife, Mrs. Catherine Brinkley; a son, Alan Brinkley, of Lynchburg; a daughter, Mrs. James Morgan, of South Dakota; a sister, Mrs. J.A. Cheatham, of Suffolk; and two brothers David Brinkley, of Suffolk; and Walton Brinkley, of Portsmouth.
