BRINKLEY IS DEAD AT AGE OF 66 Funeral Rites for Prominent Nansemond Citizen To Be Held Tomorrow F.F. Brinkley, aged 66, a prominent citizen of Nansemond county, died at his home at Liberty Spring this morning at 4 o'clock after an illness of several months. His death was caused by a form of angina. Mr. Brinkley was one of the best known Nansemond county farmers. Operating on an extensive scale, he was an alert agriculturist. His farm specialty was the growing of choice varieties of seed corn, for which he had a large market in the border counties of Virginia and North Carolina. During the organization of Nansemond county farmers for co-operation with the AAA and other government programs, Mr. Brinkley was an active leader of Nansemond organizations. Mr. Brinkley also was interested in the civic and political life of the county. At the time of his death he was a member of the Nansemond County School Board and the County Democratic Executive Committee. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Mary Culver Brinkley, one son, Parke C. Brinkley, of Nansemond county, one sister, Mrs. B.W. Ashburn, of Newport News; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock at the Liberty Spring Christian Church, conducted by Dr. I.W. Johnson. Interment will be made in the church cemetery.
