Burns Rites Tuesday; Supt of Parks, Cemeteries F. S. BURNS SUFFOLK - Funeral services for Frank Stanley Burns, longtime superintendent of Suffolk city parks, will be conducted Tuesday at 4 p.m. in Hill Funeral Home by the Rev. J.C. Mitchell. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery with Masonic rites at the graveside. Mr. Burns, 55, died Saturday at 11 p.m. in Obici Memorial Hospital. Burns, also keeper of municipal cemeteries, had been a city employee 32 years. A native of Isle of Wight County, he was a son of Peter Dickerson and Mrs. Adeline Wooster Burns. He was a member of First Baptist Church and of several Masonic groups, including Suffolk Lodge 30, Mt. Nebo Royal Arch Chapter 90, Khedive Temple of the Shrine and Portsmouth Commandery 5, Knights Templar. He was a life member of the Suffolk Volunteer Fire Department. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Pansy Rose Burns; two daughters, Mrs. William S. Kane of Newport News and Mrs. Floyd Owens of Suffolk; seven sisters, Mrs. C.C. Martin and Mrs. Agnes Jordan of Rescue, Mrs. Frank Lesner and Mrs. Elbert Nye of Norfolk, Mrs. William Akers of Portsmouth, Mrs. Nat Clements of Suffolk and Mrs. Buck Latimer of Clinton, N.C.; and four grandchildren. ****************************************************************************** FRANK S. Pallbearers were James C. Causey Jr., George S. Swain, R.N. Baker, Jr., W.C. Valentine, Jarvis Hunter, W. Carroll Howell, H.O. Carter, Venton Rose, B. Franklin Jernigan and Jimmy Meadows.
