All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ HORACE BRINKLEY Funeral services for Horace Felton Brinkley, who died Thursday morning at the McGuire Hospital in Richmond, were held ysterday afternoon at 4 o'clock at the I. O. Hill Funeral Home. The Rev. D.N. Vore, pastor of the Suffolk Christian Church, and the Rev. R.H. Forrester, pastor of the Main Street Methodist Church, had charge of the services. Interment followed in Cedar Hill Cemetery with Masonic rites at the graveside. The Rev. Vore gave the poem "Crossing the Bar." Mrs. Richard Solomon and Mrs. A.W. Ballard, Jr., accompanied at the organ by Mrs. Webb Pinner, sang "The Old Rugged Cross." J.E. Baines sang as a solo "Sunrise." The casket was covered with an American flag which was later replaced with a pall of red roses and white chrysanthemums. Pallbearers were Frank Shively, Owen Burkeholder, Arthur Jones, Pretlow Brinkley, James Babb, C.L. Pierce, Jr., Marvin Whitley and W.S. Hines. James Farrell JOYNES, 8 Dec 1957, but she is buried with Horace. Her parents & paternal grandparents are buried in the same lot. James is buried with his first wife in Holly Lawn Cemetery, Suffolk.
