BRINKLEY IS DEAD AT AGE OF 83 Widow of Jesse Brinkley Succumbs at Home of Son In Nansemond Mrs. Helen M. Brinkley, 83, widow of Jesse W. Brinkley, died at 4:20 a.m. today at the home of her son, Jesse Edward Brinkley in Nansemond county. Mrs. Brinkley is survived by four sons, W.H. Roland and Carlton Brinkley, all of Norfolk; and J. Edward Brinkley of Nansemond; a daughter, Mrs. Reeve V. Staggers, of Bayonne, N.J.; also eleven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Mrs. Brinkley was long a member and active worker in Berea Christian church, near Driver. Funeral services will be conducted at the graveside in Cedar Hill cemetery Tuesday at 5 p.m. ****************************************************************************** Suffolk, August 10 - Mrs. Helen M. Brinkley, 83, prominent resident of Nansemond County and widow of Jesse W. Brinkley, died at the home of her son, Jesse Edward Brinkley, of Nansemond County, at 4:20 o'clock this morning. Surviving her are four sons, William H., Roland and Carlton Brinkley of Norfolk, and J. Edward Brinkley, of Nansemond County; a daughter, Mrs. Reeve D. Staggers, of Bayoone, N.J.; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Mrs. Brinkley was an active member of Berea Christian Church at Driver for many years. Funeral services will be held at the grave in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Suffolk, Tuesday at 5 o'clock. ****************************************************************************** Suffolk, August 11 - Funeral services for Mrs. Helen M. Brinkley, who died early Monday morning, were conducted at the grave in Cedar Hill Cemetery at 5 o'clock this afternoon by Dr. I.W. Johnson, pastor of Berea Christian Church, in which Mrs. Brinkley had her membership for many years. The casket was covered with a pall of Easter lilies and pale pink roses. Active pallbearers were Dr. Josiah Leake, H.P. Harrell, K.E. Brinkley, Glen Brinkley, R.A. Savage, J.W. Nelms, Roy Jones and G.I. Jones.
