Brinkley Funeral To Be Tuesday 

  Funeral services for Mrs. Leila Babb Brinkley will be conducted at Cypress 
Chapel at 3:00 p.m., Tuesday by Rev. R.E. Britt, pastor, and Rev. J.W. 
Morrison.  Burial will be in the church cemetery. 

  Mrs. Brinkley died at 6:30 p.m., Sunday following a lengthy illness at her 
home at Nurney, Nansemond County.  She was 65 years of age and is survived by 
her husband, A.L. Brinkley; four daughters, Mrs. B.M. Horton, Portsmouth; Mrs. 
F.R. Umphlett, Whaleyville; Mrs. Jesse Wiggins, Suffolk; and Mrs. Leon 
Brinkley, Nurney; two sons, L. V. Brinkley, Whaleyville, and James H. 
Brinkley, Nurney; three sisters, Mrs. Henry Duke, Portsmouth; one brother, 
M.W. Babb, Portsmouth; twenty-two grandchildren and two great-grand-children; 
several nephews and nieces. 

  The body was taken to the I.O. Hill and Company Funeral Home following the 
death where it will remain until 10 a.m., Tuesday at which time it will be 
removed to the home at Nurney.
