JOHN JAMES COPELAND

   Suffolk, June 25 - John James Copeland, 56, died this morning at 1:30 
o’clock at his home near Buckhorn, following a short illness.

   Surviving him are his widow, Mrs. Isabelle S. Copeland; seven daughters, 
Mrs. Clara Gay and Mrs. Sarah Gay, of Norfolk; Mrs. Lonnie McClenny, Mrs. 
Harry Winborne, Misses Evelyn and Jeannette Copeland , and Mrs. Darden 
Hedgebeth, of Buckhorn; two sons, James E. and John F. Copeland, of Buckhorn; 
two sisters, Mrs. Sam turner, of Whaleyville, and Mrs. George White, of 
Norfolk; four brothers, William Copeland, of Myrtle; Rufus and Kenny Copeland, 
of Buckland, and Henry Copeland, of Ralegh, N.C.; 10 grandchildren and several 
nieces and nephews.

   The body was taken to the I.O. Hill Funeral Home, where funeral services 
will be conducted Friday at 2:30 p.m.  Burial will be in the family cemetery 
near Buckhorn.
