Chapman, 30, died at noon today at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W.R. Chapman, 304 North street. Death followed a short illness of pneumonia. Mr. Chapman, a bricklayer by trade, had many friends in Suffolk and nearby Virginia communities. He is survived by his parents; his widow, Mrs. Mary V. Chapman; three brothers, Randolph R., Lloyd H., and J. P. Chapman; one half- sister, Miss Jessie Chapman, all of Suffolk. Funeral arrangements will be announced later.
