ELMER BARTON CHAPMAN 

Elmer Chapman Is Pneumonia Victim 

  Elmer B. Chapman, 30, died at noon today at the home of his parents, Mr. and 
Mrs. W.R. Chapman, 304 North street.  Death followed a short illness of 
pneumonia. 

  Mr. Chapman, a bricklayer by trade, had many friends in Suffolk and nearby 
Virginia communities.  He is survived by his parents; his widow, Mrs. Mary V. 
Chapman; three brothers, Randolph R., Lloyd H., and J. P. Chapman; one half-
sister, Miss Jessie Chapman, all of Suffolk. 

  Funeral arrangements will be announced later.
