A funeral cortege half a mile long followed the remains of the late Frank M. Capps to Beach [sic; Beech*] Grove Church Sunday afternoon. The pastor, Rev. Beadles, preached the funeral. These were pall-bearers: Abram Milteer, John Capps, J.O. Lancaster, F.M. Arthur, Richard Beamon, J.S. Arthur. "Frank" Francis M. CAPPS, Confederate veteran, b. 31 Oct 1831, d. 7 Oct 1899, interred in the WILROY family cemetery**, off Cullen Dr., 8 Oct 1899, "Virginian-Pilot," Vol. 4, No. 165, Oct. 10, 1899, p. 7, col. 2 **Presumably his widow is also buried there; her mother, two daughters, son-in-law John C. WILROY, & John's mother are all marked. Nansemond Co.
