L. J. COSTEN DIES OF HEART ATTACK 

Business Man of Wide Acquaintance Succumbs To Chronic Ailment; 
   Funeral Set for Tomorrow At Five. 

  Leonidas Joseph Costen, who for 40 years has been connected with the firm of 
R.R. Allen & Son and who enjoyed a wide acquaintance through this section, 
died from an attack of chronic heart-trouble yesterday afternoon at his home, 
209 Grace street.  Mr. Costen was in his sixty-fifth year. 

  Funeral services will be held from the home tomorrow afternoon at 5:00 
o'clock, with the Rev. Dr. W.W. Staley in charge.  Burial will be in Cedar 
Hill cemetery. 

  Mr. Costen is survived by his widow, Mrs. Bertie Brinkley Costen; a 
daughter, Miss Jacqueline Costen, a student at Randolph-Macon Womans College; 
three sons, Rufus J. Costen, of Covington; A.B. Costen, of Washington; and C. 
Allen Costen, of Suffolk; a brother, V.W. Costen, of Norfolk.
