All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ NELLIE GAULT PARKER COTTEN NELLIE PARKER COTTEN Mrs. Nellie Parker Cotton [sic; Cotten], 68, member of a prominent Nansemond County family and widely connected in this area by birth and marriage, died suddenly Wednesday morning at her home in Chuckatuck. She was the wife of William Jasper Cotton and the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Parker of Isle of Wight County. Besides her husband she is survived by a son, George Frederick Cotton of Norfolk; a daughter, Mrs. W.H. Norfleet, Jr., Nashville, Tenn.; two brothers, Augustus Parker, of Birmingham, Ala., and George H. Parker, of Franklin; a sister, Mrs. George R. Hayes, of Franklin, and a number of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Cotton was a member of Wesley Chapel Methodist Church of Chuckatuck and of its women's organizations and was active in community life of the district and county. Services were conducted this morning at 11 o'clock at the residence, with burial in the Wesley Church Cemetery. ****************************************************************************** MRS.
