James Albert Coney, 84, died Thursday evening in Southampton Memorial Hospital. A native of Brighton, England, he was a son of Mr. and Mrs. William Coney and the husband of the late Mrs. Elsie F. Coney. He was a minister of the Society of Friends and had been the leader of Somerton Friends Meeting for 20 years. He was a former superintendent of the New England Yearly Meeting of Friends. He is survived by a son, Peter Coney of Middlebury, Vt.; and two grandchildren. A memorial service will be held today at 11 a.m. in Somerton Friends Meeting by the Rev. Cafer Marley. Burial will be in the church cemetery. W.J.M. Holland and Sons Funeral Home, Franklin, has charge. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Somerton Young Friends. ****************************************************************************** JAMES ALBERT CONEY SEDLEY - A funeral service for Rev. James Albert Coney, 84, of Sedley, was held Sunday at 11 a.m. at the Somerton Friends Meeting by the Rev. Cater Marley. Burial was in the Somerton Meeting Cemetery. Rev. Coney died Thursday night in Southampton Memorial Hospital after a long illness. A native of Brighton, England, he was the husband of the late Mrs. Elsie F. Coney and son of Mr. and Mrs. William Coney. He was a minister of the Society of Friends and had been the leader of the Somerton Friends Meeting for 20 years until his retirement in 1969. He had served as superintendent of the New England Yearly Meeting. Surviving is one son, Peter Coney of Middlebury, Vt. and two grandchildren, Michel and Marian Coney, both of Vt. Rev.
