COHOON, DIES IN SUFFOLK Suffolk, Nov. 28 - (AP) - Del Willis E. Cohoon, veteran member of the Virginia House of Delegates, died Monday afternoon in his office here. The legislator, who represented the city of Suffolk and Nansemond county in the lower chamber, had been in ill health for some time. He was 58. The Nansemond-Suffolk rescue squad was unable to revive Delegate Cohoon, who apparently suffered a heart attack. The legislator was born in Montgomery, Ala., April 8, 1902. He was educated in Virginia public schools, Alabama Polytechnic Institute and Virginia Military Institute. He was president of the Suffolk-Nansemond County Bar Association in 1937 and vice president of the Virginia State Bar Association in 1947. He served as chairman of the Virginia Recodification Commission in 1944-48. He was for the same period a member of the Virginia Advisory Legislative Council. He was chairman of the Democratic Executive committee of the city of Suffolk, and a member of the Democratic state central committee at the time of his death. In the period 1933-1954 he was associate judge of the Civil and Police and Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court at Suffolk. He was a delegate to the national Democratic conventions in 1944 and 1948. He served in the House of Delegates in the period from 1940 to 1947 and from 1952 until his death. He was a member of the Episcopal Church, American Legion, Elks, Masons and Shrine. He was married to the former Miss Thelma Lee Bryant of Suffolk, by whom he is survived. There were no children. He was the son of Mrs. Thomas W. Cohoon of Suffolk and the late Mr. Cohoon. In Richmond, Governor Almond said Mr. Cohoon "served his beloved Commonwealth of Virginia with great distinction during his 15 years as a member of the House of Delegates and in other capacities. Virginia has lost a tried and trusted public servant." A funeral service will be held at noon Wednesday in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Hon. Willis E.
