Mr. Carr was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Abbey Carr of Isle of Wight County, and the husband of Mrs. Flora Adele Carr, who preceded him in death last May. He was a member of the Holland Baptist Church. Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Raymond White of Elizabeth City, N.C., Mrs. J.P. Carr of Carrsville, Mrs. Jack Herlich of Long Island , N.Y., Mrs. Glenn A. Shifflett of Shenandoah, and Miss Bernice Carr of New York City; three sons, James A. Carr and Clifton S. Carr of Holland, and Thomas Lewis Carr, AUS, stationed in Germany; eight grandchildren; and three brothers, James Arthur Carr of Holland, Henry Carr of Suffolk and John Frank Carr of Hopewell. Funeral services were held in the Holland Baptist Church on Tuesday afternoon at 3:30 o’clock, followed by interment in the cemetery at Colosse Baptist Church. The pallbearers were Marvin Daughtrey, Lewis Duke, Dr. M.T. Plyler, Leo Saunders, Clark Savage, T.V. Smith, Cortez Tomlin and H.V. White.
