A native of Nansemond County, he was a son of the late Alfred and Mrs. Flora Spivey Carr. He was a member of Holland Baptist Church and was a charter member of its Partnership Class. He was a member of Suffolk Post "P" Travelers Protective Association, and a veteran of World War II, having served in Europe. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Juanita* Morgan Carr; a daughter, Linda Adele Carr of the home; a son, Clifton Morgan Carr of the home; five sisters, Mrs. Lois Carr White of Holland, Mrs. J.P. Carr of Carrsville, Mrs. Jack Herlick of Glen Ellyn, Ill., Mrs. Glenn Shifflett of Richmond and Mrs. James Tripp of Portsmouth; and two brothers, James A. Carr Jr. and Thomas Lewis Carr of Holland. A funeral service will be conducted in Holland Baptist Church Friday at 4 p.m. by the Rev. Carl Lee Ousley, pastor, and the Rev. William H. Corbitt of Hillcrest Baptist Church. Burial will be in Holly Lawn Cemetery. The body will be taken from Baker Funeral Home, Suffolk, to the church one hour before the service.
