Carr and daughter of Edwin Lawrence Ballard and Annie Wrenn Vellines Ballard, died this morning at 12:50 at her home on West Washington Street after a long illness. Mrs. Carr was a native of Isle of Wight but had made her home in Suffolk for half a century. She was a woman of unusual force of character and ability and though left a widow with a large family, she reared and educated her children to be among the leading citizens of the community. Surviving Mrs. Carr are two sons, W. Post Carr of Chicago, and Paul Carr, of Suffolk; three daughters, Mrs. Annie Titus, Mrs. Alfred D. Bowen, Sr., and Mrs. Charles C. Clark of Suffolk; a stepdaughter, Mrs. William Brinkley of Richmond. Martha Ann (BALLARD; Mrs. Solomon J.)
