WILLIAM HENRY CORBITT HOLLAND - A funeral service for the Rev. William Henry Corbitt was conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. in Holland Baptist church by the Rev. Carl Lee Ousley and the Rev. Jerry Odom. Burial was in Holly Lawn cemetery, Suffolk. The body was taken from Hill Funeral Home, Suffolk, to the church Saturday at 1 p.m. Pallbearers were George Brewer, Lloyd Rountree, R.H. Eure, Joe White, Doc Byrd, Tom Brindley, Wilson Miles, Guy Bunch and Glenn Buck. Rev. Corbitt, 64, retired Baptist minister, died Thursday in Obici Memorial Hospital. He had been in the ministry 44 years and interim pastor of Warwick Swamp Baptist church, Hobbsville, N.C., since his retirement in 1963. His first pastorate was Holland Baptist Church, where he went after graduating from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He also served churches in South Quay, Appex, N.C., Newport News, and Portsmouth. He concluded his active ministry at Hillcrest Baptist church near Suffolk. He was a graduate of the University of Richmond and attended Hargrove Military Academy. A native of Southampton County, he was the husband of Mrs. Etheleen Smith Corbitt and a son of Robert Lee and Mrs. Nancy Rebecca Carr Corbitt. Surviving, besides his widow, are two daughters, Mrs. Richard W. Faison of Portsmouth and Miss Judith Ann Corbitt of the home; three sisters, Mrs. Edgar Drewry of Zuni, Mrs. A.C. Carr of Franklin, and Mrs. Alton Bridger of Norfolk; three brothers, the Rev. Rufus Corbitt of Poquoson, James Corbitt of Newport News, and Charles Corbitt of Franklin; and two grandsons. Rev.
