Corbell, 400 Mount Vernon avenue, Port Norfolk, aged 84. Mr. Corbell was the son of the late Thomas Mitchell Corbell. He was born in Chuckatuck, 1841, and engaged for many years in farming there, afterward removing to Port Norfolk, where he made his home. He was widely acquainted in that section of the city and was esteemed by all who knew him. Mr. Corbell was a veteran of the Confederacy, enlisting at the beginning of the war, and receiving an assignment to the artillery*. He served with that branch of the army until his foot was crushed in an accident, and he was then transferred to Company B, Thirteenth Virginia Cavalry, serving under Gen. J.E.B. Stuart until that officer was killed. He then saw service under command of Fitzhugh Lee until the close of the war. He probably is the last surviving member of Tom Smith Camp, Confederate Veterans, of Suffolk, in which he held membership. He also held membership in the Masonic fraternity. Besides Dr. and Mrs. Corbell, he is survived by a daughter, Miss Sarah T. Corbell; four grandchildren, the Misses Jane, Elizabeth and Nancy Corbell, and R.L.
