Cross, who was a former resident of Suffolk. Mr. Cross died late yesterday afternoon at Mount Alto Veterans' hospital in Washington. He was a World War I veteran and former member of Post 57, American Legion, in Suffolk. He is survived by one brother, Ned Cross, and two aunts, Mrs. E.T. Jones and Mrs. W.E. West, all of Suffolk. The body will be brought to the I.O. Hill and Company Funeral Home, where funeral arrangements will be made later. Members of Post 57, will participate in the funeral. ****************************************************************************** Cross Rites to Be Held Tomorrow Funeral services for George W. Cross, a former resident of Suffolk, who at the time of his death was residing at the Mount Alto Veteran's hospital in Washington, will be conducted at 4 o'clock Friday afternoon from the I.O. Hill and Company Funeral Home. Cross is survived by one brother, Ned Cross, two aunts, Mrs. E.T. Jones and Mrs. W.E. West, and two nieces, the Misses Nethie Ann [sic; Nephie Anne] and Kitty Cross, all of Suffolk. Dr. J.G. Truitt and the Rev. R.E. Brittle will conduct the services and burial will be in Cedar Hill cemetery.
