MRS. RUTH C. CROSS 

  Mrs. Ruth Copeland Cross, 87, died at 1 a.m. today (Wednesday) at the home 
of her son, Luther C. Cross, 210 Central Ave. 

  A native of Nansemond County, she was the widow of Thomas Luther Cross and 
a daughter of the late Elisha and Matilda Rawls Copeland.  She was a member of 
Suffolk Christian Church. 

  Besides the son with whom she lived, surviving is another son, Lloyd T. 
Cross of Newport News; one sister, Mrs. A.D. Winborn of Richmond; one 
granddaughter, Mrs. Annette Cross Brooks of Suffolk; and two great-
grandchildren. 

  A graveside funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday in Bethlehem 
Christian Church cemetery by Dr. R.E. Brittle. 

  The funeral procession will leave the I.O. Hill & Co. Funeral Home for the 
cemetery at 3:45 p.m.

  A funeral service for Mrs. Ruth Copeland Cross, who died Wednesday, were 
conducted at 4 p.m. Thursday at the graveside in Bethlehem Christian Church 
cemetery by Dr. R.E. Brittle. 

  Pallbearers were E.P. Brooks, R.J. Rodriques, James A. Vick, David T. 
Fowler, Charles J. Shackleford, Edward L. Laine, W. Eddie Copeland and Rudolph 
Smith.
