HOLLAND - Lloyd Joseph Carter Jr., 44, equipment mechanic formerly of Yale, Sussex County, died Saturday night in Raiford Memorial Hospital, Franklin, after short illness. Husband of Mrs. Deliah Gaskand Mins Carter and a son of Lloyd Joseph Carter Sr. of Chuckatuck and Mrs. Fannie Martin Carter of Richmond, he was a member of Holland Christian Church and had been employed by Steinhardt Goodwin Equipment Co., Franklin. Surviving besides his wife and parents are a son, Joseph Edwin Carter, and a daughter, Miss Sandra Sue Carter, of Holland; two brothers, Homer Wells Carter, USN, and Lawrence Carter of Stony Creek; six sisters, Mrs. Evelyn Modlin of Handsom, Mrs. Emily Howard, USAF, of Okinawa, Mrs. Jean Worrell of Boykins, Mrs. Juliett Moore and Mrs. Marjorie Burgess of Richmond and Mrs. Barbara Harrell of Franklin. Funeral services were conducted today (Monday) at 3 p.m. by the Rev. C. Carl Dollar with burial in Holland Cemetery.
