ROSA CARTER. Suffolk, Feb. 9. - Mrs. Rosa E. Carter, wife of I.L. Carter, died at her home this morning in Kingsboro Heights, after an illness of two weeks of paralysis, aged sixty years. She is survived by three children, Mrs. W.C. Eure, of Whaleyville; Mrs. S.C. Bristo [sic; Bristow], of Zuni; and a son, I.L. Carter, Jr., of Suffolk; three sisters, Mrs. L.L. Kelly, of Hampton; Mrs. J.F. Carter, of Whaleyville, and Mrs. J.R. Counsel [sic; Councill], of Franklin. The funeral will be held at the grave at the old Carter home near Whaleyville, Va., Tuesday, conducted by Rev. C.L. Lowe. Isaac Lee CARTER 6 May 1886, in Gates Co., NC. Isaac is buried with his second wife in the GRIFFIN family cemetery, on Black Creek Rd. at Burdette Rd.
