James A. Coney of Corinth Friends Meeting House. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Carroll, 75, died Monday at 11:45 a.m. in her home at 135 Madison Ave. after a brief illness. A native of Southampton County, she was a member of Corinth Friends Meeting House. She was a daughter of L.P. and Mrs. Alice Crabor Raiford of Southampton County. Surviving are her widower, Lee Carroll; two daughters, Mrs. Annie C. Wilroy and Mrs. F.G. Walsh of Suffolk; four sons, L.E. Carroll of Norfolk, J.E. Carroll and B.N. Carroll of Suffolk and Julian E. Carroll of Richmond; seven sisters, Mrs. Lee West of Suffolk, Mrs. Fannie Branch and Mrs. Wilroy Stephenson of Ivor, Mrs. Hattie R. Branch and Mrs. Eula R. West of Zuni, Mrs. Ola R. Thomspon of West Point, Va., and Mrs. Emmett Scott of Franklin; three brothers, Philip M. Raiford, Frederick Raiford and Robert B. Raiford of Ivor; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. ****************************************************************************** MRS. CARRIE R. CARROLL SUFFOLK - Mrs. Carrie Nell Raiford Carroll, 74, died Monday morning at her home in Suffolk after a brief illness. A native of Southampton County and a member of Corinth Friends Meeting, she was the daughter of the late Levi Philip and Alice Crabor Raiford. Surviving are her husband, Lee Carroll, two daughters, Mrs. Annie C. Wilroy and Mrs. F.G. Walsh of Suffolk; four sons, Leroy Carroll of Norfolk, Bernard Carroll and John Carroll of Suffolk, and Julian Carroll of Richmond; seven sisters, Mrs. Lee West of Suffolk, Mrs. Fannie Branch and Mrs. Wilroy Stephenson of Ivor, Mrs. Hattie Branch and Mrs. Eula West of Zuni, Mrs. W.C. Thompson of West Point and Mrs. Emmett Scott of Franklin; four brothers, Philip M. Raiford, John W. Raiford, Frederick Raiford and Robert B. Raiford of Ivor; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon in the I.O. Hill Funeral Home, Suffolk, with Rev. James A. Coney, a former minister of Corinth Meeting, and Rev. C.E. Rigby, III, minister of Corinth Meeting, conducting the services. Pallbearers were her nephews, Harold Branch, Paul Branch, Glenn Thompson, George Philip Raiford, Joe M. Branch, Walter Raiford, Fred Harrell and Elton Raiford. Interment was in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Suffolk.
