CARROLL ALAMEDA, CALIF. - John "Buster" E. Carroll, 73, of the 1300 block of Fountain Street, died Jan. 29, in a hospital. Mr. Carroll, a native of Southampton County*, had retired from the Ford Motor Co. He was a member of Central Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Rudy Rountree Carroll; two sons, Thomas E. Carroll of Alameda and Bobby E. Carroll of Hopkins, Minn.; two sisters, Annie C. Wilroy and Mary C. Walsh, both of Suffolk; two brothers, Bernard N. Carroll of Pittsford, Vt., and Julian E. Carroll of Chester; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. The funeral was conducted Tuesday in Hill Underwood Funeral Home, Suffolk by the Rev. Joseph D. Lang. Burial was in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
