Cramer Succumbs at 87 Alfred Bartlett Cramer, 87, formerly of Suffolk, died at 10 p.m. yesterday at his residence 1730 Lanier Drive, Washington, D.C. Mr. Cramer helped organize the Dill-Cramer Lumber Co., here and in 1914 founded the A.B. Cramer Lumber Company. He was employed for a number of years with the American Lumber Company and with the Sheffield Lumber Company. His last employment in Suffolk was with the National Screen Company. The oldest member of the Main Street Methodist Church, Mr. Cramer was a member of the James McLemore Bible Class, the church choir and honorary member of the official Board of Stewards. He was a charter member of the Suffolk Shrine Club and of Suffolk Lodge 30 AF and AM Chapter. He was also affiliated with Mt. Nebo Lodge 20 and Grice Commander of Lodge 16, Khedive Temple, Norfolk, of which he was a charter member. A native of New Jersey, Mr. Cramer was twice married, his wives being Bessie Wrenn Cramer and Mary King Turner Cramer. He is suvived by two sons, William A.W. Cramer, of Norfolk, and A.B. Cramer, Jr., of Greensboro; a step-daughter, Mrs. John H. Kimpner [sic; Kintner], of Washington, D.C., and three grandchildren, Patricia Cramer, of Norfolk, Elizabeth Wrenn Cramer, of Greensboro, N.C., and A.B. Cramer, III, of Richmond. Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Thursday at the Hill Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. George F. Lightner, pastor of the Main Street Methodist Church. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery with Masonic rites at the grave. [photo, captioned:] ALFRED B. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Alfred Bartlett Cramer, 87-year-old retired Suffolk lumberman, died Monday at his home in Washington, D.C. He is suvived by two sons, William A.W. Cramer, of Norfolk, and A.B. Cramer, Jr., of Greensboro, N.C.; a step-daughter, Mrs. John H. Kintner, of Washington, D.C.; two granddaughters, Miss Patricia Cramer, of Norfolk, and Miss Elizabeth Wrenn Cramer, of Greensboro, and a grandson, Alfred B. Cramer, III, of Norfolk, student at the Medical College of Virginia.
