CHARLIE D. DAVIS 

   A funeral service for Charlie D. Davis was held Thursday in Whaleyville 
Assembly of God Church by the Rev. Kenneth Tinch and the Rev. Raymond Hoggard. 
Burial was in Great Fork Church at Whaleyville.

   Davis, 63, died in Obici Memorial Hospital, Suffolk Tuesday morning after 
a sudden illness.

   A native of Little River, S.C., he was the husband of Mrs. Dollie Jane 
Benton Davis and son of Dowell and Mrs. Ann Benton Davis.

   He was a retired brickmason and attended Whaleyville Assembly of God Church.

   He was in the Artillery in the early 1920’s

   Surviving besides his widow, are three brothers, Willie Davis and Jesse 
Davis of Mt. Holly, N.C., Calhoun Davis of Wilmington, N.C.
