DORA LANKFORD DUKE Mrs. Dora Lankford Duke, 83, died at 2:10 a.m. in a Chesapeake nursing home. She was a widow of Henry E. Duke and the daughter of Jodie and Emma Duke Lankford. A native of Isle of Wight County, she was a member of the Beaver Dam Baptist Church. She is survived by: two daughters, Miss Dora Elizabeth Duke of Williamsburg and Mrs. H.C. Cole of Portsmouth; one son, Joseph Henry Duke of Suffolk, with whom she made her home; two sisters, Mrs. Elvin Whitley and Mrs. N.H. Bradshaw, both of Carrsville; one brother, Gardner Lankford of Portsmouth; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the I.O. Hill & Co. Funeral Home by the Rev. Edwin C. Thornton Jr., pastor of Beaver Dam Baptist Church. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
