LAURA HUDGINS DENNIS Mrs. Laura Hudgins Dennis, a former resident of this city, died yesterday in her residence in Main street, Suffolk, of pneumonia. She is survived by her mother, Mrs. K.L. Hudgins, living at 11 Hatton street, this city, and a brother, M.L. Hudgins, also of Portsmouth. The funeral service will be conducted in St. Paul's church, Suffolk, at 11 o'clock tomorrow morning. ****************************************************************************** MRS. LAURA DENNIS Suffolk, Feb. 7. - Mrs. Laura Hudgins Dennis, one of the most prominent and popular young matrons of this city, wife of Lynn S. Dennis, aged 27, died at 11:30 this morning at her home, 337 Main street, of pneumonia, following influenza. Mrs. Dennis, who was Miss Laura Hudgins, of Portsmouth, is survived by her husband, Lynn Dennis; one little daughter, Caroline Steptoe Dennis, aged five; her mother, Mrs. Kate Lee Hudgins, of Portsmouth; one brother, Milton L. Hudgins; a sister, Mrs. W.H. King, Jr.; a half-sister, Miss Bessie Hudgins, and a half-brother, of Marion, S.C. She was a member of St. Paul's P.E. church, a member of their choir and a member of the Randolph society of St. Paul's and also a member of the Davis circle of King's Daughters. Her death after a short illness has cast a gloom over the community, especially the younger married set, in which she moved and was a valued member. DENNIS Suffolk, Feb. 8. - The funeral services of Mrs. Laura Hudgins Dennis, wife of Lynn Dennis, of this city, who died Saturday morning at her home in Main street, will be held St. Paul's P.E. church Monday morning at 11 o'clock, conducted by Rev. J.F. Coleman. The body will be interred in Cedar Hill cemetery.
