ANNIE JACKSON AMES DARDEN 

  Suffolk, July 13 - Funeral services for Mrs. Mattie Gaskins [sic*] Darden, 
wife of A.G. Darden, of Driver, were conducted at the grave in Cedar Hill 
Cemetery this afternoon at 4 o’clock by the Rev. A.K. Lambdin, pastor of 
Beechgrove Methodist Church, in which Mrs. Darden held membership.  A hymn 
was read by the pastor. The casket was covered with a pall of Easter lilies, 
lilies of the valley and gypsophila.

  Active pallbearers were J.E. Ames, Jr., V.G. Eberwine, Garland T. Towe, 
C.P. Quincy, J.H. Daughtrey, Herbert P. Harrell, Roy Jones and W.E. Gould. 
Friends of the family served as honorary pallbearers.

Her first husband, William Thomas EVERETT, is buried with his parents 
   in Block F, Lot 107.

The text seems to have her name confused with her mother's.  Her parents, 
   Richard Baker & Martha Jane (GASKINS) AMES, are buried in an AMES family 
   cemetery, in the Bennett's Creek area.

Her son "Charlie" Charles Thomas EVERETT's 1956 D.Cert. 
   gives bu. Cedar Hill Cem, but he is marked with his widow in

   His half-sister Lillie Mae (DARDEN; Mrs. Walter) HURFF, is
