Brock Darden, prominent resident of Suffolk and the the county, were conducted this afternoon at the First Baptist Church, Suffolk, by the Rev. Dr. H.J. Goodwin, assisted by the Rev. Dr. N.B. Newman. The choir of the church, accompanied by Miss Velma Carr, sang the hymns, "Sweet Bye and Bye" and "The Old Rugged Cross." W.W. Darden and his daughter, Miss Annie Glenn Darden, sang the duet, "Through the Gates of Gold." The casket had a pall of lilies and roses. Active pallbearers were Dr. J.E. Rawls, J. Will Jordan, W.B. Harrell, J.D. Jenkins, A.B. Cramer, R.A. Baines, G.A. Nimmo, C.B. Loftin. Friends of the family served as honorary pallbearers. Burial was in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
