DARDEN DIES LAST NIGHT FUNERAL SERVICE WILL BE HELD FRIDAY AFTERNOON FROM FAMILY HOME Mrs. L.S. Darden, wife of L.S. Darden, died last night at 8:50 o’clock in a local hospital after an illness of ten days. Mrs. Darden is the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joshua H. King, and a great granddaughter of General John Hodges. Besides her husband, L.S. Darden, she is survived by one brother, Ernest King of Norfolk, and one sister, Mrs. Alice Whitfield, of Franklin, several nieces and nephews, and one great aunt, Miss Maggie Hodges, of Norfolk. Mrs. Darden was a member of the Oxford Methodist church and a member of the Ladies’ Aid Society. Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 3:30 o’clock at the residence, 303 Linden Avenue conducted by the Rev. H. Conrad Blackwell. Interment will be in Cedar Hill cemetery.
