All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ MAJOR JACKSON DARDEN Major Jackson Darden, aged 69, died at his residence, 813 West Twenty-first Street, yesterday morning at 8:05 o’clock after an illness of one month. He was a native of Nansemond County and lived in Suffolk for many years prior to coming to Norfolk 42 years ago. He was the son of the late Samuel and Mrs. Sarah Cross Darden, and in addition to his wife, Mrs. Lily White Darden, he is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Grace Leigh Darden; three sons, Frank S., H. Jack, and Stanley W. Darden; and a sister, Mrs. Eva Disharoon; all of Norfolk; one brother, Samuel P. Darden, Lawrenceville; and his step-father, Owen K. Pinner, of Suffolk. He was a member of Colonial Avenue Methodist Church. Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home of E. Lee Cox & Bro., 631 Westover Avenue, Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock. Burial will be in the family plot in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Suffolk.
