PEARL DARDEN SUCCUMBS AT OBICI Mrs. Pearl Underwood Darden, wife of L.F. Darden of the Windsor Road, died today at 10 a.m. at the Obici Memorial Hospital after a long illness. She was 65 years old. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 4 p.m. at the Hill Funeral Home by the Rev. George D. Alley, pastor of the Suffolk Christian Church. Burial will be in Holly Lawn Cemetery. She was a member of the Suffolk Christian Church and the Philathea Class of the church and was the daughter of the late Josephus Underwood and Mrs. Alice Moore Underwood of Nansemond County. Besides her husband she is survived by two sons, James F. Darden and David A. Darden of Suffolk, three sisters, Mrs. J.T. Brock of Smithfield; Mrs. Ruby Zebender of Tampa, Fla. and Mrs. Ethel Knapp of San Francisco, Calif.; a brother, L.L. Underwood of Norfolk and nine grandchildren.
