[sic; R.D.] Darden, aged 60 years, died last night at 9 o’clock at his home near Western Branch Church, in this county. The deceased was only sick a few days and his sudden death was a great shock to the whole community. He leaves a wife, who was Miss Simons, and two daughters, Annie and Otelia Darden, and one son, Leonard Darden. The funeral services will be conducted tomorrow afternoon from the Western Branch Church, of which he was a member, at 2 o’clock after which the remains will be laid to rest in the family burying grounds.
