Baker & Co. Funeral Home by the Rev. Robert B. Marr. Burial with Masonic rites was in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Edwards, 67, of 419 Highland Ave. died Friday in a hospital. A native of Southampton County, he was a son of Luther B. and Mrs. Sallie Branch Edwards and the husband of Mrs. Inez Edwards. He was a member of Congregational Christian Church, Franklin Masonic Lodge 151, Suffolk Masonic Lodge 30, Portsmouth Commandery 5, Mt. Nebo Masonic Lodge 20, and Norfolk Khedive Temple. Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Ruben A. Edwards of Lynchburg; two daughters, Mrs. Eddy Allgood of Danville and Mrs. Lawrence Wail Jr. of Suffolk; two brothers Lloyd Edwards of Portsmouth and Herman Edwards of Hampton; four sisters, Mrs. Thomas Joyner and Mrs. Milford Bostic of Hampton, Mrs. Emmett Griffin of Franklin, and Mrs. Wadsworth Deshields of Virginia Beach; and seven grandchildren.
