ADOLPHUS ELEY, ILL SEVERAL MONTHS, TAKES LIFE WITH REVOLVER Suffolk, July 22 - J. Adolphus Eley, well known resident of this city, took his life at noon today by shooting himself through the heart with a 32 caliber revolver. The tragedy occurred at the Eley home, 201 North Street. Mr. Eley had been agitated during the morning but was apparently calmer when his wife went out of the room to the front of the house. It was then that Mr. Eley went into the bathroom and ended his life. Mrs. Eley heard the report and rushed into the house to find her husband lying on the floor. Dr. F.J. Morrison was summoned but life was extinct in a few minutes. Mr. Eley was paralyzed a few months ago and since had been suffering from melancholia. Funeral arrangements have not yet been completed. ****************************************************************************** SUFFOLK, July 23 - funeral services for J. Adolphus Eley will be held Thursday afternoon at 4:30 o’clock at Suffolk Christian Church by the Rev. Dr. W.W. Staley. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
