William J. Eley, a prominent farmer of the county, died yesterday of typhoid, in the 41st year of his age. He is survived by his widow, who was Mrs. Pattie MacAbee [sic; McAbee], a step-son, Fulmer MacAbee, who has just recovered from an attack of fever, two little sons, Ralph Eley, who now is in bed with typhoid, and Alton Eley, critically ill with the same trouble, and a small daughter, Grace Eley. He is also survived by his aged mother, Mrs. Lamm Eley, of Suffolk, and three sisters, Mrs. Alma Tebo and Mrs. George Bradshaw and Miss Kittie Eley. An examination of the premises revealed the source of the contamination to be in the drinking water on the farm. Mr. Eley was a member of Purdie Lodge, No. 170, A.F. & A.M., and was a popular resident of his section. The funeral services will be held at Western Branch church Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock. The interment will be made with Masonic rites. ****************************************************************************** WILLIAM J.
