EURE Mrs. Martha Elizabeth Eure, aged 84, widow of John Eure, died yesterday at 9:45 o'clock p.m., at the home of her daughter, Mrs. C.J. Atkinson, 128 North street, after a long illness. Mrs. Eure is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Mollie Collins, Mrs. J.P. Blanchard, both of Gatesville, N.C.; Mrs. E.W. Blanchard, of Sunbury, N.C., and Mrs. C.J. Atkinson, of Suffolk; two sons, J.E. and C.H. Eure, of Newport News; two brothers, Melvin and Tobe Lilly [sic; Lilley*], of Gatesville; 31 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The funeral services will be held on Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock, at the residence, 128 North street, conducted by Dr. H.J. Goodwin and Dr. W.W. Staley. Interment in Cedar Hill cemetery. Martha's parents, James "Jim" & Lydia (HARRELL) LILLEY, m. 1842 in Gates Co., NC. Martha appears in the 1900 Census - Hunters Mill, Gates Co., NC - as b. Aug 1846; widowed; 7 of 9 children surviving; farmer; OFF #80. Annie's D.Cert. 67-011691 gives Martha's maiden name as PARKER.
