SARAH FOLK SUCCUMBS TODAY Mrs. Sarah Johnson Folk died suddenly this morning at her home on Franklin Street. She was the widow of the late E.L. Folk, and a native of England. She had made her home in Suffolk for a number of years. Mrs. Folk is survived by one son, Garnett Folk, two grandchildren, Thomas and Carolyn Joyce Folk, of Huntington, W. Va., two sisters, Mrs. C.G. Garnett, of England, and Mrs. Hudson, of Honolulu, one stepson, John S. Folk, and one stepdaughter, Miss Helen Folk, of Suffolk. Mrs. Folk was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal church, Suffolk, Magazine Club, Suffolk Social Club, Womens' Club and was active in Red Cross work. Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 3 o'clock at the R.W. Baker Funeral Home. Marriage of E. L. Folk, of Suffolk - Personal Information. SUFFOLK, VA., October _. - ( Special.) - Mr. E.L. Folk, one of our most prominent merchants, was married in Bradford, England, on Tuesday of last week. The Bradford Daily Argus, of October 7th, gave the following account of the event: This morning at Gargrave Parish church a pretty wedding of interest to Bradfordians took place in the presence of a select assembly. The contracting parties were Mr. Ernest Linwood Folk, of Suffolk, Va., United States of America, and Miss Sara Johnson, of 10 Darley street, sister of Councillor Johnson, and a lady well known in Bingley and at Idle. The wedding ceremony was performed by. the Rev. Mr. Simmonds, of Derby, formerly Vicar of Idle. The bride was given away by Councillor Richard Johnson, and Mr. Sam Johnson, of the Town Clerk's Department, acted as best man. The bridesmaids were Misses Nellie and Edith Johnson, nieces of the bride. They were dressed in blue Liberty silk, and wore black picture hats, trimmed with ecru lace, the bride being attired in a beautiful dress of heliotrope, with accordion-pleated crepe de chine, with trimmings of lace guipure. Her hat was of tulle to match. She carried a shower bouquet of lilies of the valley, sweet peas, and white chrysanthemums. The presents were numerous and costly, one being a very handsome silk opera cloak, designed and woven in Bradford by the firm of Kellett, Wallbank & Johnson, of Joseph street. After the wedding breakfast Mr. and Mrs. Folk made arrangements for proceeding at once to Liverpool en route for the United States. Mr. and Mrs. Folk arrived in New York last Wednesday and will reach Suffolk to-morrow (Sunday) afternoon, coming by way of Richmond.
