Oscar Bright Fowler, Sr., 67, 2448 Holland Corner Rd., died this morning at Southampton Memorial Hospital. He was a native of Nansemond County and the husband of Mrs. Evie Milteer Fowler. He was a son of the late Benjamin F. and Mrs. Mamie Howell Fowler. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Holy Neck United Church of Christ. Besides his wife, survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Trudy F. Smith of Millsville, Md., and Mrs. Joan Boyce of Suffolk; two sons, the Rev. Oscar B. Fowler, Jr. of Suffolk and Timothy M. Fowler of Silver Spring, Md.; a sister, Mrs. Nellie F. Holland of Suffolk; and two brothers, Benjamin J. Fowler and Melvin L. Fowler, both of Suffolk. He is also survived by five grandchildren. A funeral service will be held Thursday at 3 p.m. in the Sidney F. Harrell Funeral Home by the Rev. Cliff B. Smith and the Rev. R.T. Grissom, with burial in Holly Lawn Cemetery.
