Mrs. Bettie Ford died this morning just before 5 o'clock at her home, on Central avenue. She had been ill for several weeks. The deceased leaves a husband, Mr. Fred Ford, three sisters and three brothers. Mrs. Ford contracted a severe cold, which was never checked. The deceased was a member of the Main Street Methodist Church, from which the funeral service will be conducted to-morrow afternoon at 3:30. Mrs. Ford was formerly Miss Bettie Jones, of Petersburg. Suffolk, Va., February 9. - [...] The funeral of Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Ford took place at the Main Street Methodist Church this afternoon and the interment was made in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Rev. W.T. Green, the pastor, conducted the services. A large assemblage of sorrowing friends were present and the floral offerings were magnificent and costly. Mrs. Jones, the chief lady at the Virginia Manufacturing Company, presented a lovely pillow of carnations and white roses, and Mr. George T. Ford, of Norfolk, brother of Mrs. [sic; Mr.] Frederick O. Ford, the husband of the deceased, presented a beautiful crescent and star pendant of the same flowers, both being backed by immortelles.
