SUFFOLK NEWS. 

  Suffolk, Va., June 21. - The funeral of Mr. J.L. [sic; J.R.] Franklin, who 
died very suddenly yesterday morning, took place this evening at 5 o'clock 
from his home, on Kilby street, being conducted by the Rev. Dr. Staley, pastor 
of the Christian Church.  The interment was made in Cedar Hill cemetery.  The 
following acted as pall-bearers: 

  Active - Messrs. R.E. Whitehead, Hugh Little, Samuel Hosier, Otis Smith, 
Fletcher Gay, and Thomas Raby. 

  Honorary - Messrs. Atkins Turner, W.H. Barnes and William Gay. 


Jethro Riddick FRANKLIN, retired farmer, Confederate veteran, 
b. 15 Dec 1822, d. 20 Jun 1904, 
interred in Cedar Hill Cemetery (Block D, Lot 104*), Suffolk, 21 Jun 1904, 
"Norfolk (VA) Landmark," Vol. 58, No. 96, Wed., June 22, 1904, p. 8
