Suffolk, Va., June 21. - The funeral of Mr. J.L. [sic; J.R.] Franklin, who died very suddenly yesterday morning, took place this evening at 5 o'clock from his home, on Kilby street, being conducted by the Rev. Dr. Staley, pastor of the Christian Church. The interment was made in Cedar Hill cemetery. The following acted as pall-bearers: Active - Messrs. R.E. Whitehead, Hugh Little, Samuel Hosier, Otis Smith, Fletcher Gay, and Thomas Raby. Honorary - Messrs. Atkins Turner, W.H. Barnes and William Gay.
