DAVID RUSSELL GAY 

   IVOR - A funeral for David Russell Gay Sr. was conducted Wednesday at 3:30 
p.m. in the chapel of Purviance Funeral Home, Wakefield by the Rev. R. Berkley 
Garnett.  Burial was in Holly Lawn Cemetery, Suffolk.

   Pallbearers were Jerry Wells, Raymond Rickman, Delaney Wells, Billy 
Rickman, Robert Gay, Lilton Gay, Steve Gay and Darnell Rickman.

   Gay, 46, died Saturday in his home after a brief illness.

   A native of Isle of Wight County, he was a son of Mrs. Ballie Griggs Gay 
of Zuni and the late C.L. Gay Sr.  He was a member of Ivor Baptist Church, an 
Army veteran of World War II, and an automobile mechanic.

   Besides his mother, surviving are his widow, Mrs. Margaret Barlow Gay; 
three sons, David R. Gay Jr. of Hampton, Mitchael W. Gay of Ivor, and Army 
Spec. 4 Larry Gay of South Vietnam; a sister, Mrs. Gordon E. Vanderburg of 
Suffolk; and three brothers, C.L. Gay Jr., Floyd H. Gay, and George Robert 
Gay of Suffolk.

Isle of Wight Co. native, d. 24 Dec 1966, at home, Ivor, age 46,
