John Gibson Rites Held Yesterday 

  Funeral services for John Thomas Gibson, who died Tuesday from injuries 
received Saturday in an automobile accident, were in the Hill Funeral Home 
by the Rev. Richard Meyers of Portsmouth and Rev. Robert H. Bradley, pastor 
of the Pentecostal Holiness Church, Suffolk.  Burial was in Oakland Christian 
Church Cemetery. 

  Pallbearers were Leroy Bradshaw, T.E. McCaw, Irvin Salmon, Calvin Salmon 
Sr., Calvin Salmon Jr., James Salmon, Elwood Powell, George Brock, Buddie 
Gayle, and Joe Byrd.

b. 17 May 1939, Isle of Wight Co., d. 10 Jul 1962, Norfolk, 
interred in Newman Memorial Cemetery*, Oakland Christian Church, Chuckatuck, 
"Suffolk (VA) News-Herald," Vol. 40, No. 166, Fri., July 13, 1962, p. 2 

*Additional information: 

He shares a gravestone with his brother Bernard Lee (1945 - 1975).  A photo 
   of it - added by KM - is posted with Find a Grave Memorial #157976304 &c. 
   Their brother John R. is marked of the reverse. 

His parents, "Jeff" Jefferson Lilton Sr. & Carrie Marie (SALMON) GIBSON, 
   are also buried there.
