DARDEN GOSLEE Suffolk, Jan. 15 - Mrs. Martha Goslee, well-known resident of this city, died this morning at 7 o’clock at Virginia Hospital, following a stroke of paralysis, which caused her to sustain a severe fall at her home on North Main street. Mrs. Goslee was the widow of John E. Goslee, and survived by four daughters, Mrs. R.L. Bradshaw, Mrs. W.A. Askew and Miss Nina Goslee, of Suffolk, and Mrs. E.R. Carr, of Roanoke; a sister Mrs. W.E. Disharoon, of Norfolk; two brothers, M.J. Darden, of Norfolk and Sam P. Darden, of Lawrenceville; a stepfather, O.K. Pinner; 11 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Goslee was a member of the First Baptist Church of Suffolk. The body was taken to the Funeral Parlors of R.W. Baker & Co., and the funeral procession will form at the Baker Funeral Home Friday afternoon at 2:15 to proceed to the First Baptist Church, where at 2:30 Friday the funeral services will be conducted by Dr. H. J. Goodwin, pastor of the First Church. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Martha Ann L. (DARDEN; Mrs. John E.) GOSLEE, of Suffolk, Nansemond Co. native, d. 15 Jan 1936, Suffolk, age 72, interred in Cedar Hill Cemetery (Block D, Lot 20*), Suffolk, 17 Jan 1936, "The Virginian-Pilot" (Norfolk, VA), Jan. 16, 1936, p. 17 *Her parents & stepfather are buried in the same lot. The first shows her married; the last two show widowed. However, her husband 2m. widow "Delia" Cornelia (HOLLAND) BENTON, 8 Jun 1897, in Lenoir Co., NC. He died in 1920, and is buried in Cedar Grove Cemetery, New Bern, Craven Co., NC.
