Death of Mr. W. W. Goodwin - Robbery - Help For the Veterans - Explanatory - Baseball - Drawing to a Close - Personal Mention. (Special to Virginian-Pilot.) Suffolk, Va., April 15. - After a long illness with consumption, Mr. W.W. Goodwin died at 3:15 o'clock this morning at his home, No. 24 Sycamore street. The funeral will take place Sunday afternoon from the residence and will be conducted by Dr. W.W. Staley, of the Christian Church. The interment will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery. The deceased was a son of Mr. L.S. Goodwin, of the City Market, and a brother of Miss Beulah Goodwin. He leaves a widow, who was Miss Belle Jackson, and three children - two boys and one girl. Mr. Goodwin was 30 years old. ****************************************************************************** SUFFOLK. Many Matters of Interest Picked Up in and Around Town. Special to The Landmark. Suffolk, Va., April 15. - Mr. W.W. Goodwin died at his home, No. 24 street, this morning at 2:10 o'clock of consumption, at the age of 30 years. Deceased was the only son of Mr. and Mrs. L.S. Goodwin, of Suffolk, and leaves a wife, three small children and four sisters, besides many friends to mourn their loss. He had been a sufferer for more than twelve months and had been extremely ill for the past five weeks, his suffering being unusual during that time. The sisters of the deceased are: Mrs. Thomas Harrell, Mrs. W.D. Curtis and Mrs. W.T. Myers, of North Carolina, and Miss Beulah Goodwin, of Suffolk. For a long time before coming to Suffolk deceased had been a member of the Baptist Church of Hertford, N.C., but had never transferred his membership. The funeral will take place to-morrow (Sunday) afternoon, from the residence. Friends and acquaintances are invited to attend.
