WILLIAM BENJAMIN GOODRICH

WILLIAM B. GOODRICH SUCCUMBS HERE AT 83

   William Benjamin (Captain Billy) Goodrich, 83 died at 10:30 p.m. yesterday at 
his home on Morgan Street after a long illness.

   He was the husband of the late Hattie Jones Goodrich and son of the late Jim 
and Betty Pittman Goodrich of Surry County.

   Mr. Goodrich is survived by one daughter, Miss India Bette Goodrich, of the 
home; four sons, J. Wallace Goodrich, of Suffolk, Wesley L. Goodrich and J.G. 
Goodrich of Portsmouth and J. Benny Goodrich, of Norfolk; 11 grandchildren, 6 
great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

   He was a member of the Suffolk Presbyterian Church. Funeral services will be 
held Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock at the I.O. Hill Funeral Home. Burial 
will be in Holly Lawn Cemetery.
