James E. Gayle Is Dead at 60 

  ECLIPSE - Funeral services for James Elwood Gayle will be conducted 
Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Baker Funeral Home, Suffolk by Dr. H.S. Hardcastle, 
pastor of Berea Christian Church, and the Rev. W.D. Daniel, pastor of Mt. Zion 
Christian Church.  Burial will be in Oakland Christian Church Cemetery. 

  Mr. Gayle, 60, died unexpectedly at his store here Monday at 1 p.m. 

  Son of Henry James and Mrs. Florence Peck Gayle of Nansemond County, he was 
a member of Oakland Christian Church, and Chuckatuck Masonic Lodge 77. 

  Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Georgia Lee Gayle; three sons, James E. Gayle 
Jr. and Frank Lee Gayle of Suffolk and Richard Henry Gayle of Hampton; three 
daughters, Mrs. Joseph Hamilton of Holland, Miss Shirley Gayle of Suffolk and 
Miss Brenda Gayle of the home; two sisters, Mrs. R.W. Bradshaw of Nansemond 
County and Mrs. C.N. Sutton of Suffolk; a brother, Henry Leslie Gayle of 
Nansemond County, and nine grandchildren and seven nieces and nephews.
